History

Cougar Pacific Systems was incorporated in 1998 and since that time the firm has successfully installed Building Automation Systems in over 500 facilities, including schools, hospitals, military facilities, colleges, hotels, office towers, recreation centres, and other large residential, commercial, and industrial buildings across the entire province of British Columbia.

Cougar Pacific employs a strong team of technicians and electricians and can provide competitive solutions for bid-spec and design build projects.

We represent the Alerton line of Building Automation products. Alerton was the first manufacturer to construct BACnet Building Automation products starting in 1996. Visit www.alerton.com for additional information related to the company and their products.

Arne Jackson, AScT

President

Arne is a Director of the firm and has been in the temperature controls industry since 1984. A Mechanical Engineer Technologist, he has experience with electric, electronic, pneumatic and several brands of Direct Digital Controls (DDC). Arne has involvement in all aspects of the business, including engineering, commissioning, sales, contractor and consultant, and management.

Mark Chambers

Engineering Manager

Mark is a Director of the firm and has been in the temperature controls industry since 1988. An Electronics Engineer Technologist, he has experience with many manufacturer's DDC systems, including the manufacturing and design of controllers during his employment with Walker Technologies. Mark has been involved in many high profile projects, including the level IV Winnipeg Disease Control Centre.

Rob Hall

Operations Manager

Rob has been in the temperature controls industry for over 15 years. A licensed Journeyman Electrician, he has experience with DDC systems from the project management and installation point of view. Rob also has experience with other building systems, including fire alarm, security, lighting and power distribution.

Miles Chester

Miles is an electronics technologist and has been with Cougar Pacific for over 10 years. He also has over 10 years experience as a hardware/software designer for a local DDC manufacturer. Miles has extensive experience in high level programming including Visual Basic, Assembly language, Java, and HTML, as well as experience with many protocols such as TCP/IP, modbus, BACnet, and UDP. He is also well versed with LAN/WAN technologies and Windows operating systems.

Shane Irwin

Shane is an electrician by Trade and has over 7 years experience in the controls industry. Shane is heading up our service department. Shane has also been trained as a controls technician to provide both electrical and technical support for our installations.

Geoff Murrison

Geoff is a Journeyman Electrician who is responsible for our Gas Detection division, both new installation and service. The gas detection industry has grown extensively and we specialize in monitoring and ventilation control for parkades, gases for the health care industry such as oxygen, carbon dioxide and nitrogen, and Freon gases utilized in recreation centres or where large refrigeration systems pose risk. Geoff is factory trained and certified for both commercial and light industrial applications.
